I'm a front end web developer with a degree in Interactive Multimedia from UNC-Chapel Hill's school of Media and Journalism and a double major in Japanese. I'm interested in jobs and projects for both web and mobile development.

Mobile Developer

May 2017 - Present

  • Developing a hybrid mobile app using Ionic and Angular2 for a new fantasy sports start-up
  • Responsible for turning design compositions into working interfaces on iOS, Android, and web
  • Collaborating with a backend developer to incorporate data from the app's independent REST API's endpoints

Knight Foundation

Knight News Lab Fellow

May 2017 - Present

  • Working with a team to create innovative news products for local newsrooms in North Carolina
  • Responsible for building prototypes for these products according to our partner organizations' specifications
  • Creating a Facebook Messenger chatbot that uses natural language processing to answer news-related questions, tag those questions with categories, and add them to a database

Cuba's New Wave

Senior Developer

December 2016 - May 2017

  • Worked with a team of videographers, reporters, designers, and developers to create an interactive documentary website based on our travels to Cuba
  • Set up a system that allows the developers to import the reporter’s articles from Google Drive and automatically update the website with that content using ArchieML, Node.js, Express, and EJS templates
  • Responsible for independently learning, implementing, and then teaching the rest of the team various technologies, including Sass

  • Worked independently to repair old library books using a variety of hands-on techniques
